The Tile VN wall light exemplifies contemporary ceramic craftsmanship, handcrafted in a workshop nestled in Portugal’s northern Coimbra region. Its structure is defined by a rectangular ceramic tile measuring 30 × 10 × 5.4 cm, featuring a minimalist, screen-printed geometric pattern. Three diagonally divided color fields—muted sage, warm off-white, and deep matte black—create a striking composition. The tile’s subtly glossy glaze contrasts with the black’s more textured, matte finish. Softly rounded edges and intentional irregularities accentuate the artisanal nature of the piece. The sconce is mounted on a concealed aluminum support, giving it a floating appearance. Indirect light emanates from behind the tile, casting a gentle halo and highlighting the lamp’s sculptural quality. The form evokes restrained abstraction, where geometric precision meets the authenticity of handcraft. The tile serves as a visual focal point—its division of color and play of textures evoke a sense of calm and order, while subtle glaze variations underscore the uniqueness of each piece. The sconce communicates balance: soft light brings out depth in the hues, and the interplay of matte and gloss creates a quiet visual rhythm. Tile VN works well as accent lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, or hallways. It can be paired with light, smooth wall finishes to emphasize its clean lines, or with natural wood and textiles in shades of white, grey, or deep green for a harmonious composition. The sconce may also be combined with other minimalist lighting fixtures or geometric decor to create a unified, contemporary interior.
