The Tile JG wall light is a contemporary fixture crafted in collaboration with Dutch designer Marianne Smink, handmade in a workshop in Portugal's Coimbra region. Its construction centers on a rectangular ceramic tile measuring 30 × 10 × 5.4 cm, screen-printed in natural tones. The primary surface is a warm off-white, complemented by geometric triangular accents in sandy beige and matte grey. The subtly textured, matte finish highlights the artisanal nature, while the clean graphic layout gives the lamp a modern, minimalist character. No visible fasteners interrupt the form—its purity and focus on detail are central. The light source is concealed, producing indirect illumination that creates a gentle glow around the fixture. The combination of matte ceramic and balanced geometry evokes the quiet cadence of Scandinavian design—where the silence of form and the interplay of light and shadow matter most. Each tile, shaped by hand, carries subtle variations in color and texture, making every piece a unique functional object. The minimalist pattern and absence of gloss communicate restraint, balance, and a respect for craftsmanship. Tile JG works well as a single accent on a living room, bedroom, or hallway wall, providing a subtle backdrop for other furnishings. It can be paired with light wood, raw steel, or textiles in off-white and beige-grey shades. Complementary arrangements might include simple graphic art and restrained decorative objects that preserve the harmony of the composition. The calm color palette allows the sconce to blend seamlessly into the space while drawing attention through its poised form.
