The Alky lounge chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, is a contemporary interpretation of late 1960s Italian modernism. Its construction is defined by soft, organic lines and a low, wide seat that provides stability and comfort. The upholstery is made of bouclé fabric in a deep graphite shade, almost charcoal-black, presenting a tactile, nubby texture with a matte finish. The integrated legs are upholstered in the same fabric, with polished aluminum alloy caps at the base serving as subtle metallic accents and protecting contact points. The silhouette is seamless, without visible seams or decorative stitching, and the proportions—broad seat and gently sloping backrest—are designed with ergonomic comfort in mind. Alky conveys a sense of calm and a modern approach to comfort, where soft contours and a well-balanced profile create a visual rhythm characteristic of Italian design from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
