The Alky lounge chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1969, represents Italian modernism rooted in organic forms and ergonomic thinking. This edition, upholstered in Kvadrat Divina 856 wool, features a muted olive green tone with a matte, even finish. The wide, rounded shell transitions seamlessly from seat to backrest, shaping a sculptural, continuous surface. Integrated legs end with brushed aluminum details, introducing a subtle industrial accent and highlighting the chair’s durability. The upholstery remains entirely smooth with no visible seams or embellishments, while the proportions (66.2 × 83.8 × 74.2 cm) ensure comfort for individual or modular arrangements. The chair’s form evokes associations with a smooth, water-worn stone—lines flowing freely, inviting relaxation. Its uniform surface reflects the restrained spirit of late 1960s Italian design, while the aluminum base detail adds visual balance, as if the chair subtly hovers above the floor yet maintains solidity and lightness.
