The Alky lounge chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1969, is a distinctive interpretation of a modernist Italian lounge seat. Its silhouette features wide, low proportions and organic lines resting on two substantial legs that flow seamlessly from the seat, each finished with matte aluminum caps. The uniform, powder blue velvet upholstery with a matte finish emphasizes the chair’s minimalist character, while precise edge stitching reflects attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship. The seat and backrest form a continuous, gently curved surface, resulting in visual harmony and ergonomic comfort. The construction allows for both individual placement and modular arrangements.
