The Plia folding chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1967, exemplifies the innovation of Italian modernist design. Its construction combines a white-lacquered tubular steel frame with a smoky, transparent polycarbonate seat and backrest. The signature folding mechanism, based on Piretti’s distinctive “three-disc pivot”, enables smooth opening and closing.
