The Plia folding chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli in 1967, exemplifies Italian modernism that remains relevant today. Its construction features a chrome-plated steel frame with a mirror-like finish, paired with a smoky, translucent polycarbonate seat and backrest. The chair’s minimalist geometry is marked by a square seat, a wide, gently curved backrest, and a slim, folding profile. Visible pivot points highlight the innovative folding mechanism. Tubular legs are finished with black plastic caps for stability and floor protection.
