The PLOPP bar stool, designed by Oskar Zięta for Zieta Studio, exemplifies contemporary industrial design where sculptural form is born from advanced engineering. Crafted from stainless steel with a matte graphite-grey powder-coated finish, it draws attention through the soft, organic deformations created using FiDU technology. Three substantial legs, each with irregular folds, and a compact, rounded seat form a visually dynamic yet cohesive object. A chrome footrest ring serves a practical function while introducing a subtle play of light against the matte body. The seamless construction, with no visible welds or joints, enhances the impression of a unified, monolithic piece. PLOPP exists at the intersection of functional art and technological experiment. Its inflated, motion-captured form evokes the creative process in which controlled loss of control results in unique details. The bulges and subtle creases give each stool individual character, suggesting that every piece bears the imprint of its formation process. Here, steel takes on an unexpected softness, and its industrial origins are reimagined with a poetic sensibility.
