The PLOPP bar stool by Zieta Studio exemplifies the use of innovative FiDU technology—inflated stainless steel sheets shaped under high pressure. The structure consists of two ultra-thin metal sheets, welded and inflated to create a three-dimensional, sculptural object. Its glossy, pure white finish accentuates the airy folds and organic deformations of the seat and legs. Three robust, distinctly creased legs are widely splayed for stability, while a circular, matte footrest ties the composition together, providing a subtle contrast to the mirror-like metal. With a diameter of 35 cm and a height of 75 cm, the stool serves as both a functional seat and a collectible object, recognized with awards such as the Red Dot Design Award and German Design Council Award. PLOPP’s form echoes an inflated metal balloon—dynamic and full of energy, as if captured in a moment of expansion.
