The Klepsydra chair, designed by Krystian Kowalski for 366 Concept, is a contemporary reinterpretation of Teresa Kruszewska’s 1963 design. Its construction features bent oak veneer with a natural, matte finish, narrowed at the waist and supported by wide, slightly splayed legs. The seat is hand-woven from natural, light beige rattan, introducing a subtle elasticity to the structure. The backrest and armrests form a single, smoothly curved band that envelops the user. Proportions and details—such as the width of the rim and the relationship between seat and back—were refined over two years to ensure maximum comfort. The chair measures 72 cm in height, 54.5 cm in width, and 51.5 cm in depth; seat height is 45 cm, and it weighs 5.5 kg. The hourglass form references the symmetry and repetition motif rooted in Kruszewska’s original concept. The slender line, accentuated by the narrowed waist, fluid transitions between elements, and the soft texture of rattan create a sense of cohesion and lightness. The eye is guided by the uninterrupted band, while balanced proportions highlight the chair’s graphic, contemporary character. The woven seat suggests an organic dialogue between material and user, and the light oak finish softens the visual rhythm.
