The Plia chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1967 for Anonima Castelli, is a classic of Italian design that revolutionized the folding furniture category. Its construction features highly polished chromed steel, with both seat and backrest made of transparent polycarbonate in a lightly muted yellow tone. The chair is distinguished by its innovative, smooth-folding mechanism with the patented “three-disc pivot,” enabling easy folding and storage without sacrificing stability or comfort. The proportions are balanced: a square seat, gently curved backrest, and tubular, rounded legs capped with black feet.
