The PLOPP stool by Zieta Studio exemplifies innovative design, where FiDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung) technology transforms thin steel sheets into a three-dimensional, organic object. Crafted from two ultrathin metal sheets, welded along the edges and inflated under high pressure, the stool attains a dynamic, sculptural silhouette. The blue-grey matte version features a uniform, cool-toned color – the matte finish eliminates reflections, highlighting the soft curves, visible folds, and bold proportions. Three tubular legs converge beneath the round seat, creating a form measuring 35 × 35 × 65 cm. The surface feels smooth with subtle undulations and dimples – a result of controlled metal deformation, free from visible joints or fittings. PLOPP’s form evokes balloon sculpture – lightness and playfulness meet engineering precision.
