The PLOPP inox stool by Zieta Studio is crafted from ultra-thin, welded sheets of polished stainless steel, formed using FiDU technology – high-pressure inflation creates irregular bulges and organic folds. Each piece features a mirror-like, high-gloss surface with dynamic reflections and a compact, three-legged structure with a subtly concave seat. Visible welds and deformations function as both structural and decorative elements, while the stool’s proportions – a small seat and elongated, tapering legs – emphasize its sculptural presence. The smooth, cool-to-the-touch surface is free of additional ornamentation, placing focus on the purity of form and the industrial character of steel. PLOPP communicates the spirit of experimentation – an object balancing between design and sculpture, where technology meets the expressive potential of material. Mirrored reflections and soft, biomorphic contours suggest movement and transformation, evoking associations with natural processes and the industrial realm. Each deformation tells a story of controlled loss of control, making the stool both a testament to advanced engineering and a manifesto of creative freedom.
