The Tiles Door C wall light exemplifies contemporary ceramic craftsmanship, created in collaboration with Dutch designer Marianne Smink. The design features two vertically arranged, hand-shaped square ceramic tiles mounted on a discreet aluminum support. The beige and off-white color palette, achieved through screen printing, forms a geometric composition: the upper tile presents a beige field with a quarter-circle off-white motif, while the lower tile is vertically divided into two equal sections—one beige, one off-white. The glossy ceramic surface softly reflects light, highlighting subtle color transitions and fine handcrafted irregularities. The sconce emits indirect light, casting a gentle glow on the wall and accentuating the precise proportions of the piece. The overall aesthetic draws from minimalism, mid-century modern, and Scandinavian design traditions. The geometric divisions and restrained palette communicate a sense of calm and attention to detail. Each piece’s handcrafted nature ensures a unique surface rhythm and play of reflections, evoking the value of objects made outside of mass production. The fixture’s discreet presence brings a refined lightness to the space—light accentuates the ceramic’s texture and the purity of its form. Tiles Door C is well suited for living rooms or bedrooms, where indirect lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere. It can be combined with furnishings featuring clean lines—light wood, matte metal, or glass. Pairing with textiles in shades of ecru, cream, or sand will emphasize the tile’s gentle contrasts. In Scandinavian-inspired interiors, a composition of several sconces on one wall can create a graphic rhythm. In spaces dominated by whites and beiges, Tiles Door C becomes a subtle, functional accent that never overwhelms the overall design.
