The PLOPP stool by Oskar Zięta for Zieta Studio is crafted from two ultra-thin sheets of steel, welded and then inflated under high pressure to achieve its final three-dimensional form. The result is a dynamic object featuring three pillow-like legs that flow seamlessly into the seat, presenting a compact, monolithic structure with no visible fasteners or joints. The stool is finished in a saturated, lemon-yellow hue with a high-gloss surface, enhancing its sculptural presence and reflecting light with a lacquered, almost plastic-like effect. This model measures 35 cm in diameter and 50 cm in height. PLOPP balances engineering precision with a gesture of artistic freedom. The organic, irregular contours of the legs evoke the softness of inflated forms, as if the metal briefly mimics a balloon. The yellow color infuses the form with energy and a sense of movement, while each piece bears unique traces of the deformation process. This is an object that invites questions about the boundaries of technology and material, encouraging tactile exploration and reflection on the role of everyday design.
