The PLOPP stool by Zieta Studio is crafted from welded and inflated steel sheets using the proprietary FiDU technology. With a diameter of 35 cm and a height of 50 cm, the construction forms a seamless, monolithic object with no visible joints or hardware. The mirror-like, lacquered silver finish accentuates the soft transitions, irregular bulges, and dynamic folds that give each piece an individual character. Three organically shaped, 'inflated' legs support a subtly concave seat with a central dimple. PLOPP fuses the function of seating with the uncompromising presence of a sculptural object. A sense of experimental energy is palpable: steel, usually associated with rigidity and coolness, here takes on soft, almost biomorphic forms. Each crease and undulation results from a controlled process that lets the material 'breathe'—for a moment, steel becomes as malleable as fabric. PLOPP communicates boldness and freedom alongside precision; it does not mimic traditional furniture but instead approaches the threshold between art and engineering.
