The ASTRO wall lamp, designed by Marta Foit for Thoro, exemplifies a contemporary approach to wall lighting. The fixture consists of a central cylinder made from powder-coated steel in matte brown, set on a large transparent plexiglass disc. Its precise proportions—28 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm in height—emphasize the balanced composition. The smooth, matte finish of the steel contrasts with the glossy, crystal-clear surface of the plexiglass, while the absence of visible fastenings at the front reinforces the minimalist character. An integrated LED module distributes light evenly, creating a luminous halo effect around the central element without glare. The form of the lamp communicates lightness and visual clarity. The transparent disc acts as a subtle aura, while the matte brown steel body introduces a deep, warm accent—suggesting light emerging from the heart of shadow. The construction is calm and measured, referencing modernist discipline yet free from unnecessary detail. There is a sense of contemporary restraint in the design, which does not detract from its atmospheric quality.
