The ASTRO wall lamp is designed by Marta Foit for the Thoro brand in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The construction combines powder-coated steel in a vivid, matte red with a transparent, glossy plexiglass disc. The round, clear plate contrasts with the central cylindrical body, forming a geometric composition with precise lines and seamless front connections. The model features an integrated LED module that emits consistent, 3000K light. The lamp measures 28 × 28 × 8.5 cm and weighs 0.5 kg. The form of ASTRO evokes a sense of suspended light – the transparent disc maintains visual lightness, while the matte red accent underscores the project’s graphic clarity. Light diffused through the clear surface gains a soft, atmospheric quality. The minimalist language of the fixture nods to both functionality and contemporary aesthetics, where detail is pared down and materials take center stage. ASTRO works well as a solo accent on a light wall or as part of a larger composition, where multiple lamps can create a dynamic lighting arrangement. It can be paired with other minimalist furnishings – steel shelving, lacquered tables, or simple sofas in neutral upholstery. Combining it with accessories in white, grey, or black allows the red to stand out without overwhelming the space. The transparent disc enables flexible lighting effects without visually overloading the interior. The sconce is equipped with an integrated 7.5W LED module with a 3000K color temperature. Materials – powder-coated steel and plexiglass – are resistant to everyday use and easy to maintain. The construction features no visible front fasteners, emphasizing the purity of the form and ease of use.
