The ASTRO wall lamp in ochre red is a design by Marta Foit, awarded as part of the YOUNG LIGHT PROJECT in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The construction features a matte steel cylinder with a smooth surface, serving as the lamp's core and housing the integrated LED module. Encircling this is a large, perfectly round, transparent plexiglass disc that acts as a subtle light diffuser. The warm, earthy ochre red contrasts with the glossy, clear plexiglass, emphasizing the purity of the form. With proportions of 28 cm in diameter and 8.5 cm in height, the lamp maintains a harmonious balance, and the absence of visible joints or mounting elements at the front reinforces its clean, minimalist character. The wall lamp expresses calm and graphic precision. The transparent disc appears to suspend the light in space, while the matte cylinder draws attention without dominating the setting. The design represents a contemporary take on classic minimalism—a play of light reflected and diffused through a transparent plane, with a subtle nod to earthy color palettes.
