The ASTRO wall lamp is an original design by Marta Foit, created for the Thoro brand as part of the YOUNG LIGHT PROJECT in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The construction features a perfectly round, transparent plexiglass disc paired with a centrally mounted, cylindrical steel body in a deep, matte ultramarine shade. The lamp is defined by precise geometry, seamless lines, and the absence of visible fasteners. An integrated LED module provides soft, ambient light that highlights both the transparency and the vivid color of the fixture. The lamp is balanced in its proportions – a 28 cm diameter disc and 8.5 cm height – designed to harmonize light and color on the wall. The form of the sconce references geometric abstraction; the ultramarine center becomes a contemporary focal point, while the transparent disc creates a floating effect and visual lightness. The lamp communicates clarity, precision, and modernity, with a visual language that is restrained yet distinctive, suggesting a dialogue between light, color, and material. It is an object that does not impose itself but introduces a sense of order and transparency, as if the wall gains a new, shimmering dimension. The ASTRO sconce works well as a solo accent on a neutral, matte wall in a living room or hallway, allowing both its color and lighting effect to stand out. It may be combined in a larger composition with other color variants from the series, creating a graphic rhythm. It pairs well with simple, contemporary furniture with geometric forms, glass, or brushed steel
